October was Rock-tober! What an incredible month for serving our Lord and our community!
The ministries of the church were running wide-open last month between Youth Sunday, Homecoming, Pastor Nick’s ordination, Chili Supper, Youth trip to Beef and Boards, and the Community Trunk-or-Treat. It was a spirit-filled and activity filled month. God certainly showed up and showed off. We were afforded the opportunity to bring people closer to Christ, grow in relationship to one another, and demonstrate the love of Christ to the community.
But don’t start thinking we get to slow down now that October is over. As we head full steam into November, we have several things to prepare our hearts, minds, and bodies for. We have the Preschool Chicken Bash, a Youth Soup Sale, bi-monthly meetings, Men’s Breakfast, and the prepping and decorating for Christmas and Advent. Let’s get geared up for another month of God doing mighty works!
As always though, do not let the busy-ness keep you from feeling and experiencing the presence of the Holy Spirit. Remember, it’s not only about the works, but about the condition of the heart as we carry out the works. Without Christ, we would not have accomplished what we did in October, and without Him, we will not be able to accomplish a thing in November. Keep your eyes on the cross through it all!
Happy Thanksgiving Y’all!
In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Kim
