“Every morning is Easter morning from now on!
Every day is resurrection day, the past is over and gone!”
Easter Sunday is behind us for 2019. But that doesn’t mean that the celebration of Easter has to end. Each year at the conclusion of our Easter Sunday service, we sing Every Morning is Easter Morning. During that song, we say that “every morning is Easter morning” and that “every day is resurrection day.” Yet, do we truly live that out during the remainder of the year?
As a congregation, we have seen good times and hard times. We have been blessed to proclaim miracles, and we have seen those we love lose battles. We have been, and still are, on this roller coaster we call life together.
As a member of society, we have witnessed things that have outraged us…people being mistreated, politicians being dishonest, and celebrities breaking laws. The news appears to focus on the negative instead of the positive.
With all that goes on around us, it is easy to forget the lyrics of the song that we just sang. However, with all that goes on around us, I say that we need more than ever to remember these lyrics.
Easter morning is a time to celebrate our Risen Savior. It’s a time to remember the gift of grace, love, and forgiveness that we have been given through Jesus Christ. It is truly a glorious morning that seems to be a bit brighter, a bit happier, and a bit warmer…even when it’s rainy and cool outside. That’s because our attention is directed toward the Savior and His radiance!
My challenge to you is to keep your attention directed toward the Savior while we sincerely live out what we sing. What a difference we could see if we awoke each morning believing it is another Easter morning! If we began celebrating Christ every morning when we opened our eyes, how much different would our days be? They might possibly be a bit brighter, a bit happier, and a bit warmer.
So, starting today, say goodbye to guilt, fear, boredom, and loneliness. Your new life has begun!
