I cannot believe it has been a year already! Where has the time gone?

You have very quickly become very dear to my heart. Thank you for welcoming, accepting, and loving this Redneck from North Carolina … and her even redder-necked husband and son. We count each of you among our blessings. We would have never guessed what God had planned, but we are grateful to Him for all He has done.

As we head full steam into Fall, we have some exciting things coming up. Assisting with the Food Pantry, Community Trunk-or-Treat hosted by the churches, Thanksgiving, and of course, then we will begin Advent. We will be getting into The Story deeper and beginning our season of giving to others. The chill in the air may begin to cut to the bones, but the warmth of Christ’s love will be felt by all we encounter.

The Stewardship Campaign is beginning. Sincerely pray over your decision to give. Don’t just do it because the Bible says so or because the church expects it. Give from your heart with excited anticipation of what God can do with your offerings.

Also, it is that time of year when people will be asked to serve the church during 2019. If you are asked to serve; I ask you to intentionally pray over what you are asked to do. Please do not say a definitive “no” or “yes” until you have talked with God about the position. And remember, if God is calling you to serve in a position that makes you uncomfortable, He would not call you if He didn’t think you can do it. As the saying goes, God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Will you allow Him to “qualify” you
as you serve Him?

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – I Peter 4: 10 (NIV)

In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Kim
